Walking in His Glory

Isaiah 40:28

Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.

The Lord God is the Creator of heaven and earth.  Maybe you have travelled to see His handiwork such as the brilliant colours of the aurora borealis nightlights, giant sequoia trees, Grand Canyon in Arizona or Iguazu Falls in Argentina and Brazil.  God’s Creation displays His power and glory.    

There is great purpose in all of God’s Creation, with interrelatedness, and yet distinctness to bring balance; revelation to those who pay attention.  It is a witness to all, displaying His perfect character and might.  And people are the crown and glory of all Creation, made by God in His own image!

I believe it gives God glory when we appreciate His Creation, and His abundant provision within it for us.  Unfortunately, due to sin entering the world, the earth has been scarred and damaged somewhat.  Abuse of the environment, or enjoyment of it whilst attributing it to another source other than God as Creator, is sin.  But the Lord has subjected the Creation in hope of the glorious liberation of the children of God in time, who know Him personally.    

In spite of the destruction caused by mankind, God’s creative glory still bursts through.  Our senses help us gain an understanding of ourselves and what is around us.  However, what is more significant is revelation received directly from our Father when He speaks to our spirit.

The beauty in the world at present is still a shadow of what is to come though.  At the end, God will get rid of all evil.  God will rule for eternity with His Son Jesus Christ over a new heaven and a new earth.  The names of those who live faithfully with God in this phase, have their names written in the Book of Life.  They will surely dwell joyfully with Him in His special city, the New Jerusalem.  His perfect plan will finally be fulfilled, and will bring great glory to Him!

The Lord is graciously and patiently working towards this, drawing everyone who is willing to accept Jesus’ death as payment for the penalty of their sin.

Is your faith in Jesus, the Son of God?  Is your name written in the Book of Life?  Those who live for God have much to look forward to!
