Abide in Christ. Walk in truth. Grow in life.
Abide in Life is devoted to helping people understand the gospel (good news), come to personally know God, and grow in a living faith through scripture-based teaching and devotionals.
Our Mission
Abide in Life exists to present the truth of the Bible clearly and faithfully. The Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, given to guide us, reveal who He is, and show us how to live.
This is not about religion in the traditional sense, but about a real relationship with the living God. Through His Word, we come to understand His nature, His purposes, and His plan for each person.
All teaching shared seeks to remain true to Scripture, and to help you grow in understanding, faith, and daily life.
What We Believe
What we hold to be true according to the Word of God.
-
The Bible is the infallible Word of God. All teaching is grounded in Scripture and shared with sincerity and care.
-
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is central. Through Him alone, we are reconciled to God.
-
God calls us to turn from sin and live rightly. Forgiveness and grace are essential in this walk.
-
Giving, prayer, and care for others are part of the Christian life. We are called to love in both word and action.
-
Believers are to walk in genuine unity, marked by love, humility, and truth.
From Mike.“The Lord impressed on me to start this website. I’m depending on Him to guide me in writing and posting short biblical devotions. I hope you will visit and be enlightened, encouraged, challenged and helped along your daily life..”
Devotionals
Regular devotionals are provided to help you remain in God’s Word. Each reading focuses on Scripture, offering clear understanding and guidance for daily life. Take time to read, reflect, and grow in your knowledge of God.
Statement of Faith
Based on the sacred Scripture, these are main tenets of the Christian faith.
-
The living God created the heavens and earth in glorious perfection, and as Creator possesses and rules sovereignly over all according to His purposes and plans. The Lord God is one, eternally existing in three distinct persons of one essence, having somewhat differing roles within the Godhead (Trinity). They are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God alone of Himself is perfect and holy, wise, all-knowing and understanding. He is supreme, with infinite power. He is truth and love.
-
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, and in the most accurately translated bible versions, still having almost no changes at all. The Holy Spirit moved on men to write the sacred scriptures. Themes such as the Salvation plan through Jesus Christ, how to live, God’s unfolding plan and end times events, and eternity are explained. The Bible is truth - trustworthy, authoritative, and to be believed and acted on in the Holy Spirit’s leading and enabling.
-
God first created Adam and Eve perfect (male and female), in His own image with free-choice. They were given dominion over the earth, and could relate to their Maker as Father. But when Satan tempted them in the Garden of Eden, they disobeyed Him, and sin corrupted their whole being. This fallen nature still alienates each person from God, and generally affects their life negatively. Only God’s intervention can rectify this, if we humbly respond to His offer of salvation.
-
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He is eternally God with the Father and the Holy Spirit. By His incarnation and virgin birth, He took on flesh. He is thereby fully deity and fully human. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life as a man, to fulfil the will of His Father in heaven. He perfectly fulfilled the law of God. The Father sent Him to fully redeem mankind and destroy the works of the devil.
-
God desires all to be saved. In God’s love, salvation is a free gift by undeserved grace. As the final perfect sacrifice Christ died on the cross as our substitute, paying the penalty for our sin and satisfying divine justice. Only Jesus could do this, having no sin of His own. He rose from the dead victorious. After being seen by many He returned to heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father as our mediator and intercessor. Those who believe, repent of sin and trust in Christ alone, not in their own merits or efforts, receive salvation with the Holy Spirit living in them. Salvation involves regeneration, justification, sanctification and glorification. Jesus won everything for us. Every need is met in Jesus, not just salvation. A true Christian has already entered into eternal life in a continuing relationship with God. There will be no condemnation for His children.
-
God the Holy Spirit seeks to glorify Jesus. He works to bring people to faith in Christ, also convicting them of their sin, so they can turn to God for salvation. The Holy Spirit seeks to fulfil every blessing won for God’s children through the sacrifice of Christ. He equips the redeemed to come close to God and do His will, including sharing the gospel and caring for others. The Holy Spirit teaches and guides, gives understanding of Scripture, and helps God’s children become like their Saviour.
From within, He works to sanctify them and build the Fruit of the Spirit into their lives. The indwelling Spirit also assures God’s born again children of their salvation. As they remain in Christ, this salvation is sure.

The universal church is the Body of Christ worldwide, comprised of all who are born again, sincerely following Jesus. Christ is the Head of the Church, and works through His Body to share His Good News to the world. Christ is bringing a unity of the faith, and works greatly through local churches to bless His people and help others. Jesus gave two ordinances: water baptism by immersion, and the Lord’s Supper (Communion). These are not the means of salvation, but an expression of faith and trust in Christ as Saviour. Christians should love others irrespective of their ethnic, socio-economic, denominational… characteristics. The equipping of the Church through orderly Christian leadership, is by the God ordained and recognised ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.
These are still required today to extend and further establish and build the Church and God’s kingdom.
-
Heaven and hell are real - Jesus spoke about each. God pursues all to free them from sin and bring them to Himself in His kingdom of love and truth; the Kingdom of Light. When the redeemed die, they enter heaven to be with God forevermore in great joy and peace. On death, unbelievers enter into hell: separation from God, and just suffering. There is no Purgatory where the dead can do penance for their sins and remove their guilt, later going to heaven. Only the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ could pay the penalty for sin and usher in full forgiveness and a restored relationship with our Maker. To escape judgement, we must be ‘born again’, having faith in Christ and His sacrifice. Each must accept Him as Lord and Saviour, then on learning to love and live for God.
-
In God’s plan, following the rapture and various end time events, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory will return for final judgement. Satan and his evil host will have been put in the eternal Lake of Fire. The unjust and unsaved will also suffer this condemnation - the wages of sin is death. There will be a new heaven, and new earth with the New Jerusalem, free from any evil and its consequences. The saved in Christ will enjoy eternal peace and joy serving God within His plans.
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who
are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In
fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.
