A Blazing Light

1 John 1:5

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light,
and in Him there is no darkness at all.

The Bible states that the Lord God is light.  He is perfect and complete in Himself: holy.  The fullness in Him means that there is no imperfection or inadequacy in Him at all.  God reigns supreme, far above His created beings.  Every good thing ultimately comes from Him.     

God is not like a light bulb though, that turns on and off.  His nature does not alter.  If we take a bath, we come out clean on the outside.  But through eternity God is absolutely pure and holy.  He always does the highest in His love, wisdom, strength, justice etc.    

Scripture states that God dwells in unapproachable light, or that He is surrounded by His glory (emanating from His perfect character and might).

God is love.  He is generous, totally committed to caring for and working in and through His children so they all fulfil His plans as much as possible, and become like His Son Jesus Christ, their Saviour. 

God’s love is a consuming fire!  He cannot leave us as we are.  The Lord can work freely in those who surrender to Him, receiving His Spirit.  As they humbly bow and seek God, this living relationship with Him can bring great fruitfulness.  Is this your experience?

If we consider man next to God, there is no comparison to His matchless absolute knowledge, understanding, goodness, wisdom and power.  You can always trust in Him.

Come to the light, and know His love for you.  He wants to give you rest, and let you flow in full life with Him.
